Overview

As a Senior Engineering Manager for the Moving Engineering team, you lead a high-performing group of engineers focused on building scalable data infrastructure, enabling advanced analytics, and driving AI-powered insights across the organization. You are responsible for technical leadership, team development, and strategic execution of data initiatives that empower product, operations, and executive teams to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Use your technical expertise and management experience to provide hands on technical leadership and people management for a distributed engineering staff, with multiple scrum teams and team members in the Americas, India and Europe.
  •    Collaborate with product managers, designers and software architects within a cross-functional agile software delivery methodology to empower your engineering team members to design and implement new user experiences and features for our customers.
  •    Manage project delivery and help define reasonable delivery timelines and appropriate strategies for delivering projects on time and within budget.
  •    Help improve and define engineering best practices on an ongoing basis for your product and potentially for the RealPage engineering organization as a whole.
  •    Provide input on technical feasibility of designs and present options for implementation approaches to guide planning of projects, identify risks and opportunities to mitigate or avoid risk.
  •    Serve as a mentor for your engineering team members and help them grow professionally and technically as engineering practitioners. Actively participate in code reviews, design review and architectural reviews.
  •    Guide your teams in working with teams on other RealPage products to build integrated customer experiences, share data and improve interoperability between RealPage products.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience as a hands-on technical leader of engineering teams.
  • 2 years of people management experience in hiring, mentoring and supporting engineering staff
  • 7 years of experience in software development including design, implementation and maintenance of complex web applications.
  •  A solid understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented design principles, and an ability to collaborate over the best approach to problems and communicate engineering principles and practices to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  •  5years of experience coding and delivering Node.js applications, including strong fundamentals, an understanding of modern frameworks and a firm understanding of general software architecture principles. This role includes responsibilities for code reviews and some coding, balanced with management duties, and is best suited to a technical leader who wants to continue to actively write code.
  •  5 years of experience with unit test automation (e.g., rspec, jest, or similar frameworks) and the ability to mentor other engineers in best practices for unit testing.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices for software engineering.
  • Experience working with ReactJS frontend frameworks
  • Experience working with MongoDB/Postgresql
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Experience with projects in public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure Proven ability to lead and mentor software engineers and support career growth for your direct reports.

  • Experience rearchitecting/transitioning applications from onprem datacenters to public cloud.
